Saludos.

Hi everyone! My name's Marina and I live in a downtown apartment in Mendoza city. I live near Sarmiento pedestrian st. (4 blocks), San Martín st. (3 blocks), Aristides st. (Night bars! - 5 blocks), Congreso University (2 blocks) and the bus stop for Cuyo University is a block away. Also, just around the corner there's a supermarket, pharmacy, a bank and a very nice irish pub.

My aparment has two bedrooms, kitchen, living room, a bathroom to share and a little laundry room. The room to rent has two single beds, a night table and a big closet. As facilities there's internet wi-fi, washing machine, TV, DVD player, microwave, cookware, bed linen and towels.

Regarding the roomate (i.e. me!!) I do a lot of things (Uni, work and a couple of more things) and I'm very easy-going. I speak english, french and a little bit of portuguese (starting to study). I've lived with french, argentinian and american girls. Rules are pretty basic: smoking is not allowed inside the apartment (I smoke sometimes but in the smoker's section: the balcony!); whatever you brake, you pay; if we are having someone at the apartment we tell the other roomate just to know, for cleaning we call a trusty lady who does this and in common areas we have to keep it tidy! (but your bedroom is up to you... mine is a mess most of the time!)

Do not hesitate to contact me for further information! Regards.

Looking for a flat in Mendoza

Hi everyone,

My name is Kate, I'm English and have been living in Mendoza for 3 months so far. When my boyfriend and I arrived at the beginning of January we stayed in a hostel to start with thinking that it would be easy to find a flat by looking in the newspaper and didn't expect it to take any longer than a week or so. How wrong we were! Whilst there are a lot of rooms, flats and houses available to rent, the problem is that being a foreigner it's impossible to provide the kind of references that 95% of landlords or agencies are looking for (not to mention the 3 months deposit normally asked for).

Luckily we came upon mihouse.com.ar which just made the whole process a lot less painful. Within a week of signing up to it we had moved into a really nice place which we love. Mihouse.com.ar provides you with a list of rooms available to rent in flats or houses throughout Mendoza which don't require references or a deposit. Once you find a place you would like to take a look at, you just contact Mercedes and she puts you in touch with the right people to view the place. If you decide to take the room, you pay Mihouse.com.ar a one off payment of 100 pesos and that's that.

The house we are living, is in a really nice area near Parque San Martin, safe, residential and close to the centre too. Our place has 14 rooms and we share with a mixture of foreign and Argentine students and also Mendocinos profesionals. The common language of the house is Spanish which has meant that our language has improved a huge amount since moving in. The house has great facilities with 2 patios so is very sociable. We've had a great time so far in Mendoza so I wish you all the best of luck in your stay here.
